Credit is a currency for learning which can be used to compare learning and qualifications. You can build the credit you achieve towards a qualification or other learning aim.
Credit tells you how much learning you have gained within a certain amount of time, for example, from taking part in school courses, college courses or training courses.
Credits can be added together to make up whole qualifications. Gaining credit is dependent upon you completing certain assignments covering learning outcomes, such as practical work, essays, presentations, reports, portfolios, project work, exams or other.
Credits start from whatever level you are at and go all the way up to the top university level – Level 8 (Doctorate).
Learning Outcomes are the parts of the unit that outline what you will be able to do. They are always preceded by the words “the learner will” and will be followed by verbs such as: understand, know or be able to.
Assessment Criteria are the elements of a unit that demonstrate that you have achieved a piece of learning.
They are always preceded by “the learner can”.
The verb that follows this phrase gives an indication of your level of learning.
To achieve credit for your learning, you will be asked to complete assessment activities to show clearly what you have learnt.
There are lots of different types of assessment e.g. questions and answers, projects, role play, practical demonstrations etc.
At the simplest level, an awarding organisation has three key functions:
-To develop qualifications that fulfil a known industry need that means developing the structure, content (or syllabus) and assessment based on recognised standards approved by employers and Sector Skills Councils (SSCs) and Standard Setting Bodies (SSBs).
-To provide external quality assurance and assessment of qualifications to its approved Centers by supporting qualification delivery, ensuring consistency and encouraging best practice. The awarding organisation ensures learners achieve the standard required by industry.
-To award certificates to each learner who successfully achieves a qualification only when the awarding organisation has ensured that the learner has met the criteria will they issue an official, recognised certificate.
Additionally, some awarding organisations offer a range of supporting services, tailored to the needs of their customers and the industries they serve.
External verification is an integral part of the quality assurance arrangements.
External verifiers (EVs) are the key mechanism in the establishment and monitoring of recognised center status facilitating compliance with statutory regulation, the quality standards and the expectations of our qualification partners. EVs are required to visit centers and/or conduct desk-based reviews to monitor and report recognised center compliance with requirements and qualification specification criteria (developed in accordance with quality standards and appropriate legislation).

Course accreditation is basically a system that checks that a course meets a set of standardised (by the Industry) criteria. With an accredited course you know that there is a system of checks being made by the moderators on the course provider to ensure that standards, procedures and materials are appropriate, fit for their purpose, up to date and regularly updated, and that there are systems in place to monitor and give feedback on student progress. What this means to business: Qualifications training helps staff to improve productivity and to be more competitive.
Training your workforce can also be more cost effective than hiring skilled staff, leading to lower overall training and recruitment costs. Employees tend to be eager, motivated and loyal to the company that has invested in them.

However, the providing qualifications are designed to allow students the flexibility to study for their bachelor’s degree in the way most suitable for them.
Unlike standard UK bachelor’s degrees we provide a stand-alone certificate or diploma at each stage of the degree journey.
This offers students a fantastic level of flexibility with their studies.
Professional certification is a qualification awarded to a person for his/her ability to perform a job or a task in a work – related environment. A Professional qualification is always related to a specific job, occupation or trade and is nearly always industry based. Professional qualifications have an emphasis on the assessment of practical skills and knowledge ;
a way to demonstrate particular skills and understanding to an employer.
The benefits of Professional qualifications are innumerous, for both employers and employees. For the employee it is recognition of a job done well, not to mention the opportunity to develop new skills, in addition to increasing his or her employment opportunities. For the employer, qualifications provide an important way of assessing employee development. Having a well trained workforce is of great value to any business and is far more likely to improve profitability.
Success in business means keeping up with technology and staying ahead of the competition. To do that, you need skilled staff that know the job and understand business priorities. Globally, employers are recognising the economic and social responsibility of supporting their employees continuing Professional development. In doing so, this motivates staff, creating a happier and more productive workforce.
Professional qualifications are delivered by registered training organisations, private providers and Professional divisions of internationally recognised universities. In recent years, the increasing need to meet current and future labour market demands has resulted in the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). This has been developed to help link countries together, as well as creating a workforce that is mobile and flexible, resulting in a very effective qualifications system that has long term benefits for all.

Students are assessed in English by coursework, local exams, global exams and practical projects.
Coursework and exams are marked by our partners Awarding Bodies.
Your Accredited Partner Center will provide you with all the information relating to examination and assessments.
If you have a query, please contact your Center directly, and they will be able to offer help and guidance.
Your tutor will decide the right type of assessment for you and your course.
Very few courses are assessed using tests or exams.
The emphasis is on allowing you the best opportunity to display your skills.
A wide range of evidence is acceptable. Ideally it should integrate into your learning and allow you to produce evidence as part of the learning experience.
There are lots of different types of assessment e.g. questions and answers, projects, role play, practical demonstrations etc. all of which can be used to produce evidence of your achievement.
Accrediting learning not only celebrates your achievement but also proves that the learning has met a particular standard and is quality assured.
Standards are set against the European Qualifications Framework allowing the difficulty and “volume” of the learning to be measured and taken with you.
It could help you and other people such as potential employers, colleges, universities to understand the type of learning you have completed and what it is worth.
Your learning is divided into small units and therefore you can build up credits when doing a specific course, programme of study, or practical learning and training.
If you find that the course you have started on and gained some credits for is not for you then you may be able to use or transfer those credits to another course.
A credit based system will help you follow a particular training or study path.
Gaining credit for your learning can raise your confidence and motivate you to continue your achievements.
Credits can be taken from one place to another such as changing schools, colleges or workplace.
Courses can only be accessed through one of our recognised centres, each of which is quality assured.
Our centers include colleges, training providers, hotels, trade associations, the voluntary sector, schools, and others.
Your center will need to supply this request in writing with copies of all details of your previous qualifications, such as syllabi and any certificates issued.
In some cases we may already be aware of programmes where exemptions can be given, and in these cases the process should be very short and simple.
