Mature age students are generally eligible to apply for a course at any level between Certificate and Advanced Diploma, and the level you start at will depend on your current skill level.
Where you finish will depend on the outcomes you’re hoping to achieve.
If you’re joining us from the workforce or perhaps have done previous study elsewhere, you might also be eligible for skills recognition (also known as Recognition of Prior Learning or RPL), which recognises a person’s current skills and knowledge toward the achievement of a recognised qualification or statement of attainment.
So not only can a diploma or advanced diploma lead you into a degree, you can also get Credit for Prior Learning which will reduce the time and number of units you need to complete your degree.
As two educational icons the Professional & the Academic Education share a unique relationship. Today, this relationship means that students have access to fantastic pathway opportunities, credit transfers and guaranteed places.

Why choose a pathway course?

Besides, our great partnership and credit transfer opportunities with more than 80 Universities in the UK and Globally, there are extra benefits to completing a Professional training qualification before you start higher education studies.

-Plan B for school leavers

Professional Education selection criteria is different to universities if you didn’t study the right subjects or achieve the score you need
-Work in industry while completing university
Completing a diploma or advanced diploma at the
LQ Education also gives you a stand-alone qualification, meaning you can be skilled and qualified to work in your chosen field (and often earn better money than a casual job), whilst you study a degree at university.
So you’ve already gained industry knowledge, skills and experience before you get to university – what a great edge!

Develop your further study skills
first

The study environment at university is quite different to the Professional Education.
Generally, university involves more academic and independent learning whilst professional training, like the LQ Education, involves more hands-on, industry-specific learning.
Whether you’re finishing secondary school or are a mature-age student, you might feel that you are not quite ready for university yet and would like to develop some further study skills in your chosen field first.
The LQ Education offers a great support network with small class sizes, lots of one-on-one teacher time, and the opportunity to undertake further foundation studies in core subjects such as maths and english if you need them.

Pathways from secondary school

If you’re leaving secondary school and are looking at further study, your current year and skill level will determine what course level you are eligible to apply for.
Where you finish will depend on the career outcomes you’re hoping to achieve. Each course also has its own particular selection requirements so you should check these out before applying to our Partners Centers
